Impactos de la Pandemia de COVID-19 en las actividades de donación y Trasplante de Órganos – Escenario Global

Objetivo: evaluar el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19 en el proceso de donación y trasplante en el contexto global. Métodos: se realizó un estudio ecológico de 2017 a 2021, examinando el número de donantes y trasplantes, así como los casos y muertes relacionados con la COVID-19. Se utilizó un análisis de regresión lineal simple en dos bloques — 1:entre 2017 y 2020 y 2: entre 2017 y 2021. Se consideraron las tasas por millón de habitantes para evaluar los impactos. Resultados: el estudio incluyó 10 países y Portugal mostró el impacto más significativo en la tasa de donantes reales, con una disminución de 4.463,8 (95%CI: -5103,2; -3824,4), seguido de España (-3.964,4; 95%CI: -5850,2; -2078,6), México (-3.879,3; 95%CI: -4688,6; -3069,9) y Australia (-309,0; 95%CI: -565,3; -52,7), a diferencia de los Estados Unidos, que mostraron un aumento. En cuanto a las tasas de trasplante, se destacan Brasil, Portugal, España, Francia, Irán y México, que también presentaron una disminución. Conclusión: la pandemia de COVID-19 tuvo impactos significativos en el proceso de donación y trasplante en varios países, y caracterizar estos efectos es fundamental para la reanudación de las actividades.
